Overview

IT is business critical for any organization and handling of contracts, licenses, economy and technology require skills across traditional professional boundaries. Responsibility for the significant values and risks associated with IT often end up with a gap between financial, contract and IT management. IT Asset Management (ITAM) forms an important element in a business strategy enabling cost control, risk reduction and improved business value in the IT asset lifecycle including all aspects of hardware and software used in an organisation.

Pre-requisites

No formal pre-requisites but candidates should have good knowledge of service management terminology and would benefit from having the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

Objectives

• An introduction to ITAM
• Hardware Asset Management, including “mobile devices”
• Services & Cloud Asset Management, including compliance in a Cloud environment

Exam

This course is based on the BCS IT Asset Management Foundation syllabus and prepares delegates for the BCS IT Asset Management Exam taken at the end of a classroom course or on-line if course completed as an Live Virtual Environment course.. Successful candidates will be awarded the BCS IT Asset Management Foundation Certificate.

The exam is multi-choice. There are 40 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 26 correct answers from 40 (65%)

This can be taken as a BCS Classroom Exam or online (EXIN on-line exam)
